iPhone 14 Pro to Get 48MP Camera [Report]

The next generation iPhone 14 Pro will feature a 48MP camera, according to a new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst also predicts Apple will introduce a periscope lens to iPhone in 2023.
Both camera upgrades will likely provide a boost to Taiwanese manufacturer Largan Precision's market share, revenue, and profit.
In a previous note, Kuo predicted that the 48MP camera would record 8K video and create videos and images "more suitable for AR/MR devices" that will "enhance the AR/MR user experience." He's also said that the smartphone could support both 48MP and 12MP output, perhaps using pixel binning. The process combines the electric charge from adjacent CMOS or CCD sensor pixels into one super-pixel and could be used in low-light conditions to output photos with less noise.
A periscope lens would allow for improved optical zoom and is already being used by competing devices like the Huawei P30 Pro.
