The Fake Steve Jobs, Dan Lyons, and Seinfeld writer, Larry Charles, are teaming up to create a new sitcom called iCON.
EPIX and Media Rights Capital (MRC) just announced the deal to develop the new comedy series...
"iCON" will be a half hour single camera comedy from Emmy Award-winner Larry Charles ("Seinfeld," "Entourage," "Curb Your Enthusiasm"). Charles will oversee the development of the script and direct the pilot for the series. The script will be written by Newsweek technology consultant Dan Lyons.
The show's lead character, Tom Rhodes, is a composite of Jobs and other Silicon Valley titans, and the comedy is described as a savage satire, a study of ego, power and greed.
Larry Charles says: "We are attempting to do nothing less than a modern Citizen Kane. We needed a bold environment to nurture such a vision. One that was free of pre-conceived ideas. And EPIX made it clear they were that place. They asked us to make their home our home. And we have."
