Alongside reviews of the new 5G iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini, a few reviews of the upcoming Apple MagSafe Duo wireless charger have also been published today. We'll update this post as we spot more.
The charger folds neatly together for travel and works with compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, Wireless Charging Case for AirPods, and other Qi-certified devices. It's priced at $129, not including the required $19 20W USB-C power adapter.
TechCrunch The MagSafe Duo does work, and there are a couple of engineering bright spots. But you will not feel that it’s worth the money by the time you purchase the $129 charger and the $19 20W power brick to go with it, and there are many third-party accessories on the market that do this job just fine.
The Verge Apple did a good job executing this design, but it’s probably not the design I would have gone with. I also think it’s not worth $129.
Andru Edwards The Apple MagSafe Duo Charger includes a 1-meter-long USB-C to Lightning cable. Not included in that price is a power brick, although Apple recommends that you buy its own 20W USB-C power brick.
