Apple has updated the MacBook Air with a brighter display via the macOS 10.14.4 software update.
As noted by users on reddit, the company recently revised the specifications for the 2018 MacBook Air to reflect the change.
Previously, the 13-inch MacBook Air display was listed as having a brightness of 300 nits but that has now been modified to 400 nits.
MacRumors confirmed with Apple that the increase was indeed tied to the macOS 10.14.4 software release. The change log did indicate that 10.14.4 "corrects the default screen brightness for MacBook Air (Fall 2018)".
If the brightness of your display is dimmer than ideal give the 10.14.4 update a try and let us know if you notice an improvement!
