These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 5G on iOS 8.1.3 - 8.4 using TaiG for Windows.

If you aren't already at iOS 8.4 we suggest upgrading to the latest firmware using iTunes. You can find download links for iOS 8.4 here. We've also posted instructions on how to update the firmware of your iPod. Please note that you must update using iTunes rather than Software Update. If you used Software Update you should do a backup then restore to iOS 8.4 using iTunes.

Step One
Create an iClarified folder on your desktop and download the latest version of TaiG into the folder. If your download is a zip file then extract the archive into the same folder.

Step Three
Press the Settings button at the top left to return to the Settings menu. Choose iCloud from the Settings menu then select Find My iPod touch from the iCloud menu. Ensure the Find My iPod touch switch is the Off position.

*You may also want to put your device in Airplane Mode for a greater chance of success.

Step Four
Connect your iPod touch to the computer via a USB cable, launch iTunes, and perform a manual backup. It is very important that you remember to backup your device before continuing as you could lose your data if the jailbreak process does not complete successfully.

Step Five
Double click the TaiGJBreak executable from the iClarified folder on your desktop to launch the application.

Missed a step: untick the 3K assistant option to prevent this Chinese malware app from being installed on your device.

It may also be necessary to download a specific iTunes driver and install it (Link is floating around Reddit somewhere)... I was running Parallels with Windows 8.1, iTunes 12.2(Current). It worked without the driver on iOS 8.3 and then detected that it need it when I tried 8.4 last night with the updated jailbreak that came yesterday evening (The one without the kernel patch) wish I had the link to the correct driver as I went through about 12 different dead links... Oh and I was getting stuck at 60% with no reboots.
