Apple to Redesign the MacBook?

The entry-level polycarbonate MacBooks may be on the verge of a redesign, according to AppleInsider.

People familiar with Cupertino-based company's plans say the 13-inch portables are presently undergoing an industrial design overhaul that will see them reemerge in the coming months with a slimmer, lighter enclosure and restructured internal architecture to boot.

Introduced in May 2006 the MacBook has not had a redesign for three years. Apple currently only offers a white polycarbonate model that retails for $999; however, sales of that model outsell every other Mac but the iMac.


Its suggested that the new MacBook would be offered at a significantly lower price then than currently offered.

I'm betting they sort of combine the macbook and macbook air. i've noticed macbook airs have been on clearance lately at macmall.
