Apple has just announced the next version of its OS X operating system, dubbed OS X El Capitan.
El Capitan is more powerful than ever, with advancements under the hood and smarter ways to do the things you do most.
Here's what's new:
● New gestures make it easier than ever to do quick actions like deleting a message in Mail.
● With Pinned Sites in Safari, the sites you check often are always available and up to date in a tab.
● Spotlight now searches more places for even more useful results, including weather and sports scores.
● The enhanced full-screen view in Mail lets you add tabs to a New Message window.
● The Spaces Bar makes it easier than ever to create multiple desktops, giving you more room to work.
● Split View automatically positions two apps side by side, using every pixel of your Mac display.
● El Capitan makes many areas of the OS run faster
● Metal, a core graphics technology that gives apps near-direct access to the GPU, comes to El Capitan.
El Capitan is available to developers today. It will be public beta in July and will roll out free to everyone this fall.
