Apple has just opened pre-orders for the iPhone 16e, the latest member of its iPhone 16 family.
Announced earlier this week, the iPhone 16e is available for pre-order starting today, February 21, with units hitting stores and shipping out on February 28. It's a compelling option for anyone seeking Apple's signature quality with a slightly lighter hit to the wallet.
The iPhone 16e packs the A18 chip—also found in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus—delivering snappy performance and remarkable power efficiency. It's a significant leap forward from the iPhone SE, with a 6-core CPU that's up to 80% faster than the iPhone 11's A13 Bionic. Add to that Apple's first self-designed cellular modem, the C1, and you get fast 5G connectivity paired with standout battery life. Apple claims this is the best endurance ever for a 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11. For those who've clung to older models, that's a difference you'll feel.
The iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, Ceramic Shield front cover, and a tough back glass. On the rear, you'll find a 48MP Fusion camera with integrated 2x Telephoto, letting you zoom in with optical quality. You can choose between two matte finishes: black and white.
Another key feature of the iPhone 16e is Apple Intelligence, the company's new AI-driven system. For users looking to take advantage of AI-based features in the future, the iPhone 16e may be a better choice than an older iPhone 14 or 15.
Starting at $599 for the 128GB model, the iPhone 16e also offers 256GB and 512GB options. Pre-orders are live now in 59 countries, including the U.S., UK, and Canada, through Apple's online store and select carriers.
"We're so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option," said Kaiann Drance, Apple's VP of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.
