These are instructions on how to disable curly quotes or 'smart quotes' in Mac OS X.
Curly quotations can become quite a problem if you are typing code into an text editor or an app like Evernote. Luckily they can easily be disabled by following these steps.
Step One
Click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen and choose System Preferences...
Step Two
Choose Keyboard from the System Preferences menu.
Step Three
Click to select the Text tab from the Keyboard window.
Step Four
Uncheck Use smart quotes and dashes.
