Leaked Specifications for the iPhone 6?

Leaked Specifications for the iPhone 6?

Posted February 3, 2014 at 6:56pm by iClarified
KDB Daewoo Securities has revealed what they believe to be the specifications for the upcoming iPhone 6.

As reported before, the firm expects Apple to release the iPhone 6 in two different screen sizes. Here are the specs for each...

5.5-Inch iPhone 6 Specifications:
● Apple A8 (64-bit) processor
● 5.5-inch Retina display
● 2272x1280 IGZO display
● 510 pixels per inch
● 2GB of RAM
● 16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB storage options
● 8MP Camera
● 3.2MP FaceTime Camera
● 1,800mAh battery minimum
● Facial Recognition, Fingerprint Scanner
● Wireless charging (induction)
● iBeacon Mobile Payments

4.7 or 4.8-Inch iPhone 6 Specifications:
● Apple A8 (64-bit) processor
● 4.7 or 4.8-inch Retina display
● 1920x1080 IGZO display
● 440 pixels per inch
● 2GB of RAM
● 16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB storage options
● 8MP Camera
● 3.2MP FaceTime Camera
● 1,800mAh battery minimum
● Facial Recognition, Fingerprint Scanner
● Wireless charging (induction)
● iBeacon Mobile Payments

The screen sizes line up closely with previous rumors. DisplaySearch predicted 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays; however, they had specified resolutions of 1600x900 and 1920x1080, respectively. Reuters reported that Apple is looking at introducing a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone.

While most of the specifications are possible, facial recognition is questionable. Wireless charging and mobile payments are also wildcards; however, a recent New York Times report did reveal Apple was experimenting with wireless charging and its long been rumored that Apple will launch a mobile payments solution.

One strange prediction is that Apple will launch the iPhone alongside iOS 7.2. Typically, Apple releases a major update to its operating system each year. Both devices are predicted to launch in Q2 or Q3, 2014.

2 gigs of memory, eh? well, it took them 2 years to get 1gig memory on their smart phone. So I doubt it will happen.

Samsung on the other hand, 4gb of ram is used to suck the battery and take up half the gb space (which is explained from the "how much space does your smartphone really have" picture) but I think apple only needs 1gb if there is something else to help the iPhone in apps and performance.

Yes it's in 5.5 inch but I don't think so apple will launch 5.5 inch display phone. A phone should be handy which u can handle with one hand that's Steve jobs concept.

5.5 inch is sad...5.7 - 6.0 inch would have been better. Poor Apple, always comes in short. (Pun intended) I also am VERY disappointed that the battery is not larger for a larger phone. What is Apple thinking.

What are you saying first off? iPhone is coming in 3 sizes, poor you summing it up already. Does it have to be THAT big though? Also just because apple is ahead of the competition of performance, efficiency, etc. doesn't mean slow, do people care about how big or small things should be for a product, or speed and features that satisfies a user?

I'm glad that most limy they'll be coming out with a larger phone, though I really doubt they'll look like that. Usually I get the S series anyway. I just got the 5S and couldn't be happier with it.

Also, if they're making it that size they might as we make a great powerful battery.

Apple copying from Samsung, come on they are becoming ridiculous! How with they call them? iPhone Galaxy and iPhone Note? Apple keeps getting worse.

I was disappointed to see nothing on the Sapphire screen. I have been reading so many articles on it. Also how good is the battery in the specs the have?

Putting down facial recognition in a list of hardware specs makes this very unreliable (among other reasons already mentioned here). It is simply software that will use the camera that is already there.

If apple just put out a 5S w/128gb they would already have me sold, I hate always running out of space with my 64GB. 4.7" does sound nice though, 5.5" does too but probably too much, we'll see later on though

Where to begin? 1) Screen size. Two new resolutions plus previous resolutions mean that devs will be required to make three app designs JUST FOR IPHONE. One of Apple's strongest advantages is the strength of their app store - and they will not diminish that by making app development a challenge. 2) Same battery capacity in both models. Seriously? Open up an iPhone and you'll see that not an inch is wasted - and that a MASSIVE proportion of it goes to the battery. This reduces the credibility of this 'report'. 3) Induction charging. A completely ludicrous idea. Since the infrastructure isn't in place where every household as an induction charging pad, this would mean Apple would need to supply the charging pad, and it would need to be included with the iPhone. This in turn would add costs, lower margins (an Apple no-no), add complexity as rather than carrying a wire and a power cube, users would need to carry a power cube, wire, and induction charging pad. 4) Facial recognition. I'm skeptical. How many patents came to the public's attention (not to mention a credible company being bought out) prior to the fingerprint sensor announcement? 5) Minor iOS release in conjunction with product release. Nope. If a product comes out with these specs, not only will I eat my hat - I'll buy an Android, because it will signify the end of quality Apple products.

And with the introduction of the lightning cable just over a year ago I don't see them changing that. Unless they include both but that's highly unlikely.

true in every point you've made. this isn't apple and if it is, then its their end.

Even if it did look like this, more than likely not it still wouldn't end them. Every year everyone says this phone and that will end them. Where are they now? Record sales and profits every quarter and every year. Keep dreaming.
