AT&T Launches 4G LTE in 5 New Markets, Announces 50 New Markets By Year's End

AT&T is continuing their LTE rollout today, announcing 5 new markets. The new markets launched today brings their entire count to 370. More importantly, the carrier also announced that they will be bringing LTE to 50 new markets by the end of 2013. The five new markets that launched today include:

● Lake Charles, LA
● Lewiston-Auburn, ME

● Joplin, MO

AT&T announced in May that they would launch 79 new markets by the end of the Summer, and to date, have launched 76 of those 79. During that time, the carrier also announced the available of 4G LTE in 109 additional markets -- so just because you don't see a particular market on the list does not mean it will not be receiving LTE treatment.

LTE was also expanded in Shreveport/Bossier Area, Livingston Parish, St. Martin Parish, Lafayette County, Panola County, Northern Rensselaer County And Southeastern Saratoga County Albany County.

Customers can enjoy faster download/upload speeds, lower latency, and more efficient use of spectrum with LTE. iPhone users should note that only the iPhone 5 has LTE enabled (iPhone 4/4S have HSPA), so you'll need to upgrade to enjoy these faster speeds.


AT&T has launched 233 new markets in 2013 with plans to reach over 400 markets by the end of 2013, covering 270 million people.
