Uber has announced a new Home Screen Widget for iPhone that aims to make it easier for you to request a ride.

Your time is precious, especially during the holiday rush. That's why we're making it easier than ever for you to request a ride. Starting today, iPhone users can add a new Uber widget to their Home Screen to more seamlessly request a ride – in as little as two taps! To get the new functionality, make sure you're running the latest version of iOS and your Uber app is updated.

The home screen widget was announced alongside UberXXL, UberX Share at Airports, new New Uber Reserve features, and updates to Uber Shuttle at LaGuardia Airport. More details here.
