Apple Developer Center Hacked, Some Developer Info May Have Been Accessed

Posted July 21, 2013 at 10:53pm by iClarified
Apple has announced that its developer center was hacked. Although sensitive personal information was encrypted, some developer info may have been accessed.

Last Thursday, an intruder attempted to secure personal information of our registered developers from our developer website. Sensitive personal information was encrypted and cannot be accessed, however, we have not been able to rule out the possibility that some developers’ names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed. In the spirit of transparency, we want to inform you of the issue. We took the site down immediately on Thursday and have been working around the clock since then.

In order to prevent a security threat like this from happening again, we’re completely overhauling our developer systems, updating our server software, and rebuilding our entire database. We apologize for the significant inconvenience that our downtime has caused you and we expect to have the developer website up again soon.

As of now the Apple Dev Center is still down.

I agree too, you probably want ifake off this Site, can you be more specific for which ifake you're referring to b/c I've seen 2 ifakes here, so you didn't say which one it is.

I'd sue this guy, if he was going to tell apple about his little incident and warn them about security, why would he access some of apples info and delete their data?

Its Balic, don't panic about this. He just did a research trying to help apple. If apple would be smart and consider his research as a good will action, I hope he gets rewarded. Cheers

Slamdroid wouldn't be that easy for them to hack into apples hq. Their company doesn't have that many people using it anyway, since apple can still make their current products better, this means they're smart enough to track down who did this.

Hi, I have nothing intelligent to say, but I like typing so I'm posting this anyway. Boy, I sure hope that someone will make fun of this post, so that I can get into a long argument about exactly how much of a loser I am!!!!
