Check out this impressive Twitter heat map tool that shows iOS vs. Android vs. BlackBerry usage across the globe.
More than 280 million Tweets posted from mobile phones reveal geographic usage patterns in unprecedented detail.
The tool was created by ex-Googler and self-proclaimed "map geek" Eric Fischer. The Atlantic recently used it to show that if you map the iPhone users in any city, "you know where the rich live".
Check out a few images below or hit the link to try the tool for yourself.
Nuff Said iphone is king .. Snappy, design, quality feel ,ios eco system, gears , size etc etc .. Android is just a mess of funtions .. Tweak tweak tweak .. Change launcher ,, root bla bla...soo glad i left android after a year of tweaking:))only and then im 100 honest.. The only thing i miss on android is the torrent clients.. But nowdays im a streamer .. Peeeeace
I've lived in both NYC and L.A. and I can tell you this much: iPhone users live predominantly in nicer, richer areas, whereas Android users are in the ghet-TOH! hahah...Even Chicago looks to be similar, with the notorious South Side all Android and the northern parts as well as the nicer downtown and adjacent areas are all iPhone. hahah
Well Android does offer phones of a lower cost and quality, ones who live in a place where financial matters are not the best, would be more opened to purchase.
This map is a very telling one. It basically can tell you income demographics. Take Washington DC area for example. Look at the beltway and immediate surrounding areas. Draw a straight line down the middle of the ring/beltway. iPhones on the left and Android on the right. Fairly segregated.
One should have selected three well mixable colors, and plot the color based on 3 colors contribution. :)
Otherwise the last plotted color (will be set by whoever paid for the research) will prevail.
Yes. Following your idea. In the respective order, It's also, people with just enough money, and people that have money to spend on just about anything they want.
