You can download Google Maps from the App Store for free.
Already found the solution for those Who can't download the app due to AppStore location(if ur phone not jailbroken), first use your iTunes. Logout your current apple login. Change store To US, them search google maps, once you found It, click install, It will prompt msg box to login with existing id or create new id. Create new id. Now you Can have "none" as one of the payment method, choose that and also just simply fill up the address and personal details box. Now suppose you can download all free apps from the US Apple store. Hope this will help.
Thanks Rosli for the link. So i have no choice to use iTunes to install the ipa. I thought just want to derect install using my iphone. Thanks any way. Will try that out. Thanks again.
You're the most welcome Amiha. We could still using the iTune to install the Google Maps as long as the iDevice(s) were JailBroken. Just download the .ipa file I posted earlier via that link/url, then drag & drop it into your iTune there & install, the only thing that the .ipa file were cracked with the Signed by a particular iDevice's ID/Apple ID, hence, the iDevice will just need to be JailBroken to install it. Another method to get it would be if the iDevice(s) has gotten the INSTALLOUS installed, just get it under the "Search" tab, I just found that someone already uploaded it on the Installous there.
I used it all day yesterday and I'm not impressed. Looks rushed. Confusing interface. Back to apple maps for me. It's been 100% accurate here in SoCal.
I can't download from Malaysia app store and I can't change to US app store. Then How Can i download the file? My credit Card is not valid for us address when i tried to register to US app store. Anyone can advice how to get the app? Tq
Welll.... not very good, does not see my contacts.
It does have traffic, but the button does not say on or off. You can tell by WAITING for the screen to refresh.
The only thing it seems to have better than Apple maps, is Bus routes.
Lack of contacts integration is a deal killer for me.
I use Navigon, it does see my contacts, and does see traffic, like Apple and Google. Navigon offers much more though, it shows my current speed, which the Mapquest app will also do.
Navigon also shows the current speed limit, and I can set audio alerts if I exceed by 10mph.
I use Apple maps if I use Siri to route me to a contact in my address book, Google wont work for that, nor Mapquest, nor Navigon.
I will use Google if I need bus routes
No dude there is no link for the app store ,it is something you have to access through your device (iPhone).
Just type google Maps..or Maps you will see the app.
Hope this helps.
Keep trying untill you find it
Thats what I did last night
Installed on iPad 3 ios 6.01, works great; pronunces Aussie street names correcty (in US accent), 10x better resolution than iMaps, pinpoints my location inside house accurately. Thanks Google and Apple for a better soultion.
I wonder if Google got played here. Supposedly, the hangup was that Google refused to provide turn-by-turn directions. Now, Google IS providing turn-by-turn. and Apple doesn't have to pay them.
