These are instructions on how to re-restore your iPad from iOS 5.x to iOS 5.x. This procedure will work for any A5+ device (iPad 2, iPad 3) so long as you have the SHSH Blobs saved for the firmware you are currently on and the firmware you would like to restore to.

Important***: You DO NOT QUALIFY for iOS5-to-iOS5 restores if you got to your current 5.x via an OTA (Over-the-Air) update.

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Download the latest version of RedSn0w from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the firmware you would like to restore to and the firmware you are current on from here and place it/them in the Pwnage folder.

Extract the RedSn0w zip file by double clicking it.

Right click or control-click the redsn0w application from the redsn0w folder we extracted earlier and choose Open from the popup menu that appears.

Step Seven
Redsn0w will prompt you to connect your device. Do so, then click the Ok button.

Step Eight
If you need to point RedSn0w to another firmware ipsw it will ask you to do so. If you are re-restoring the same firmware version, RedSn0w will check Cydia to see if you have the correct blobs saved.

If RedSn0w is unable to find your blobs automatically you can try to click the Remote button to try again or you can click the Local button to search for blobs on your computer.

Step Nine
RedSn0w will place your iPad into recovery mode.

I found a simpler solution: 1) research available pads 2) sell or give away current iPad 3) buy a better pad, such as Samsung note 8.0 4) be happy and steer clear of all apple control issues in the future

MyiPad 2 has 4.3.3, and have blobs for it and higher stored on Cydia and locally. Many apps now state 5 or higher required to run or update, so I feel I need to move up from 4.3.3. I have followed the instructions to go up to 5.1.1, then 6.0.1 but it continues to fail. It is unable tocommunicate with the device, suggests DFU mode to start. It fails with that as well. Any thoughts? I have the SHSH blobs and IPSW stored locally (and blobs on Cydia) as required. Why failure?

I have a ipad 2 updated to IOS 6. Can i go back to 5.1.1 now using this RedSn0w ? I dont have a copy for 5.1.1 blobs saved locally/remote through Cydia or TinyUmbrella. However I do have a SHSH blob for 4.X.

If you have 5.0.1 blobs, is possible to downgrade from iOS 6.X. to iOS 5.0.1, and which FW blob iOS 4.X you have? (Example: 4.3.3 , 4.3.5)
