The Nifty MiniDrive is an microSD card tray that fits flush with your MacBook.

While a normal SD card, which sticks out by about 1cm from the body of the computer when fully inserted, the MiniDrive is designed to sit completely flush with the body of the MacBook, becoming a semi permanent part of your computer.

We also developed a simple way of removing the MiniDrive from the computer by hooking a paperclip through our specially designed eyelet at the front of the device.

The Nifty MiniDrive is seeking funding via Kickstarter. There are two editions one for the MacBook Air and one for the MacBook Pro. You can pledge $60 for both. The project has already raised $31,896, nearly three times its goal of $11,000. There are 27 days more to go.

My opinion is irrelevant and I copy and post most of them anyway off of random forums.

Fail! For any reason if microSD came off half way from the nifty caddy, the whole thing will stuck inside laptop forever. Need to redesign microSD inserting into caddy same way same side.

C'mon, don't be uncivilized and calling people that. Comments are to improve your product. Easier to fix it now prior to production. I don't know if MacBook Air is hollow or not but my two MacBook Pro 15 and MacBook Pro 13 are having opening big enough to cause trouble. Even if it doesn't stuck... If for some reason MicroSD wasn't insert to caddy all the way in some people might force it in and break MicroSD card and/or Caddy if they are in the hurry.

This is an excellent product, one that I could well consider using in the iMac as well.
