Apple has told a Federal Court in Australia that it will offer a refund to customers who believe that they were misled due to the company's 4G claims for the new iPad, says ABC.

Apple has agreed to publish a clarification that states the product supports ultra-fast mobile networks but is not compatible with the Telstra network. The company says it will email purchasers offering a refund if they believe they have been misled. Clarifications will also be made at point of sale.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission took Apple to court today for alleged misleading iPad "4G" claims.

Apple has entered into discussions with the group and will return to court later today.

the fact that people can't seem to read is one thing. on the other hand apple does appear to have alot of lawsuits but in all fairness they only appear to have more ecause they are outlined more in papers and in this site... look at microsoft they had problems... as well as samsung, best buy, future shop, hp, intel, facebook, the list goes on... it is unfair to say that apple is the only company "misleading" customers... it is also unfair to post negative comments about someone that is nolonger alive to defend their actions (russel)

The lawsuits are the result of Apple's illegal actions. The lawsuits would not have been filed if Apple did not do anything illegal. This is an Apple centric site. All of the articles will be related to Apple. If you feel all of the news in the world is too much Apple, then you need to read other sites that are not so Apple centric to get a more balanced view. Provide evidence that another company does as many illegal things as Apple. Just because another company, or person, commits a crime doesn't make it ok for Apple, or you, to commit a crime too. Unfair? Steve is a vindictive person. He would do anything he can to silence his detractors. More and more people are coming forward now that he is gone.

This is silly. Apple specifically put these stickers on the box saying, "IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is not compatible with Australian 4G LTE networks, and will only operate at up to 3G speeds in Australia." (see photo: http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/Kdi1XOouIp1VDAoN.large)
