Apple and Samsung Both Looking into HzO Technology to Waterproof Smartphones?

Posted January 16, 2012 at 6:35pm by iClarified
Apple and Samsung are both reportedly interested in HzO technology that can waterproof smartphones.

HzO coatings enhance and protect devices from smartphones to textiles to important documents. The Water Blocking technology prevents damage caused by liquid resulting in electronic devices that remain fully functional after exposure.

"We showed the Samsung Chairman the technology with a Samsung Galaxy S that we had coated with HZO and he couldn't believe his eyes," a representative of the company told Pocket-Lint. "Samsung is really excited by the tech."

The company also told the site that they are talking to Apple, in hopes that Apple will make the iPhone 5 waterproof.

"We expect HZO to be in next season's phones," said HZO.

The technology appears to be very similar to Liquipel which is already offering a service to waterproof your iPhone for $59.

Saw this presentation at ces firsthand. Would love if it was implemented at the factory level. This will be the next trend next year. Waterproofing or splash proofing all your gadgets

I would love to have the water protection or sealed to my iDevices. This is good for next Apple product.but in the mean time,I'm thinking to get my iPhone 4S sealed by Liquipel, since Apple might take this offer on next iPhone (5)!!!

I was saying the other day that one of the only big wow factors Apple could do (beside revolutionizing 3D on a smartphone which won't happen for quite some time) is if they talked about the iPhone and then mid presentation dropped it in a tank of water. Underwater the phone still works. That would be sick.
