HTC Touch HD Shows Similarities to the iPhone

Posted September 17, 2008 at 11:15pm by iClarified
Early reviews of the HTC Touch HD are reporting that its screen and shape is very similar to the iPhone.

Gizmodo writes that the "TouchFlo was super smooth, the screen was huge, and it appears the Touch HD camera handles low light pretty well."

@smyles - exactly my thoughts! @telia - I'm waiting for the middle next year to see what Apple is up to next! In current incarnation, I just wish we had horizontal SMS and Mail keyboards...

@ ion Did you ever used an Iphone or send and email/sms message with it? Probably not because it`s the most easiest way to write it and send it. MMS is also possible, you only need to jailbreak your device. Just like video recording for example.

Lets have more products similar to the iPhone. If they suck then it just reaffirms iPhones' brilliance and if they are good then that hopefully creates more incentives for Apple to improve their product. Maybe, if enough potential iPhone customers adopt the HTC Touch, Apple will realize that they need to drop the AT&T contracts and offer all carriers so they can increase their distribution.

What is HTC doing... they should have released this instead of the touch diamond or touch pro... They should force the carriers to get it on their networks now. Next they should have put android on it, as their android launch phone as well. I could deal with win mobile though if it brings the goods.. which means it needs to meet the 3g and wifi built in requirement. Too bad apple is still killing them and this won't help unless it gets a big push and win mobile doesn't crash on it every other day.

At this stage the iPhone has started to fall behind in hardware specs and it does lack some features but what still sets it apart from the rest is the unbeatable UI. Everyone's now copying the iPhone form factor but I don't think anyone, as yet, has even equaled the IPhone user experience.

Let the games begin. Apple (ATT) iPhone, Microsoft (HTC) Touch HD, Google (Tmobile) Android, RIM (Verizon) Storm. What's a tech junky to do? The field in sure leveled now. I just upgraded to from a 2G to the 3G iPhone, looks like I should have waited to see what apple does next.
