Rogers has sent a text message to customers asking if they would like to be notified when reservations for the new iPhone can be made.

As a valued customer, we want to let you know that we have the Rogers Reservation System. This means you could be one of the first in line in Canada for the next iPhone as soon as it's available to reserve! Reply YES to be notified when the next iPhone can be reserved. Visit www.rogers.com/rogersreservations to learn more.

After replying YES to the text message...

Thank you. You will be notified when the next iPhone can be reserved. As the Rogers Reservation System is accessed through your My Rogers account, visit rogers.com/myrogers to register now if you haven't already. This will ensure a quick reservation later on. Device reservations require a refundable fee of $40 plus taxes.

Hopefully, this indicates that Canada will be in the first group of countries to get the next generation device, unlike last year. Apple is expected to announce the next iPhone on October 4th and make it available October 14th.

The link to rogers site does not work, there is not such page, did someone verify this before posting the bit of news.... c'mon

Why would anyone reserve something they dont know anything about? Its starting to upset me that i can can see the inside of the phone, hear about a delay(maybe) because of a screen problem, see a case the shape of, and hear about etc, etc. Show the product already!!!! I bet we will all have 2 weeks to make a decision once we see it, which is not fair to everybody!!

Its a notification system it is not a reservation and it is not binding... Presumably when they notify the subscribers that the next iPhone is up for reservation, the subscribers will open up a tab on their browsers and lookup the new features at apple.com... Does it really take you 2 weeks to decide wether or not you want something?
