The Google Wallet Vision [Video]

Posted September 11, 2011 at 7:50pm by iClarified
Google has posted a video showcasing its vision for Google Wallet on your smartphone.

Google Wallet is a mobile app, it will do more than a regular wallet ever could. You'll be able to store your credit cards, offers, loyalty cards and gift cards, but without the bulk. When you tap to pay, your phone will also automatically redeem offers and earn loyalty points for you. Someday, even things like boarding passes, tickets, ID and keys could be stored in Google Wallet.

Google Wallet was announced in May and is coming soon.

Why would any retailer want to take on the extra cost to implement this in their store?

Sounds great and practical, until the phone/wallet run out of battery, or get lost/stolen. Then try to buy gas at a station at midnight...http://www.nirhus.com

That last disclaimer screen works with Google+ as well. Looks like a great idea and is amazing, but not practical. Ahead of it's time. Sadly, I don't see that being used widely for a very long time. Apple Stores are the only places to use mobile paying. Good luck seeing a restaurant using google wallet as payment.

I hope Apple will implement NFC functionality on the iPhone 5 as well.

The only problem I see behind this - it will probably be very hackable or vulnerable to scamming :( otherwise GREAT!
