Apple took its online store offline for a few hours yesterday to improve the look of its order status pages, reports AppleInsider.

The previously-schedule maintenance saw upgrades to the Online Order Status component for the Apple online stores in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, according to people familiar with the matter. An internal memo regarding the matter distributed on Friday stated that the improvements were designed to "enhance the overall look, feel, and functionality for a better customer experience."

Apple updated the pages with more visual elements including graphical buttons for returning and pre-signing for shipments. A drop-down menu lets you reprint your invoice or return your order. In addition, product names are now displayed in full text instead of abbreviated and the configuration details are concisely displayed in a bulleted list.
