Google and Virgin America Are Lending Out Free ChromeBooks With Free Wi-Fi

Google and Virgin America have teamed up to lend out free ChromeBooks with free Wi-Fi during select flights, reports Mashable.

Passengers who are flying on Virgin America between the airline's home airport in San Francisco and either Boston, Chicago O'Hare or Dallas airports between July 1 and September 30 will be able to check out a laptop at their gates. During their flights, they can test it using a free in-air WiFi pass.

This is a great marketing move for Google. Bored travelers will definitely welcome the opportunity to test out a new gadget. Especially if it comes with free Wi-Fi.


The Google ChromeBook is an alternative to both Mac OS X and Windows. Essentially it is a computer with nothing but a web browser.
