Apple Confirms Minor Verizon iPad 2 Recall

Apple has confirmed a minor recall of Verizon iPad 2s after numerous reports that iPads were being called back to the company.

"Duplicate MEID numbers were flashed onto an extremely small number of iPad 2 units for the verizon 3G network," an Apple representative told AllThingsD.

A Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) is a globally unique number identifying a physical piece of CDMA mobile station equipment. In practical terms it can be seen as an IMEI but with hexadecimal digits. [W]
