Dock Connector From the iPhone 5?

Dock Connector From the iPhone 5?

Posted February 28, 2011 at 1:54pm by iClarified
Apple.pro has posted a photo claiming to be of the dock connector and cable for the iPhone 5.

MacRumors notes that "the part is nearly identical to the corresponding part found in the current iPhone, with the main exception of a slightly narrower connector and cable where the part connects to the device's main board. The connector carries a part number of 821-1300-02, compared to 821-1281-A for the Verizon iPhone and 821-1093-A for the original iPhone 4."

If the part is legitimate it would it suggest that Apple is not switching to micro-USB connectivity for its devices and will likely just include an adapter to satisfy the European Commission's universal charger standard.

If this is legitimate then it's no doubt the design is to support the new Thunderbolt interface on the new MacBook Pros

No micro-USB? What is a standard good for if you need an adapter?
