How to Download and Install an Application From the Mac App Store

These are instructions on how to use the Mac App Store to purchase, download, and install applications.
Step One Make sure you are running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher. You can update your version of Snow Leopard by selecting Software Update from the Apple Menu at the top left of your screen.
Step Two Click the Mac App Store icon in your dock to launch the store.
Step Three Click the Sign In link on the right side of the Mac App Store.
Enter your Apple username and password then click the Sign In button.
Step Four Browse through the store's categories and top lists to find the application you would like to download. Click its name or icon to view its details.
Step Five Click the Buy button underneath the applications icon to purchase the application.
Step Six You will be asked to sign in again to confirm the purchase. Input your Apple username and password then click the Sign In button.
Step Seven The application will now be downloaded, installed, and automatically inserted into your Mac OS X Dock.
Step Eight Clicking the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store will provide you with a record of your purchase.
Click the Updates tab in the Mac App Store will let you know if an update for the application is available.
