How to Jailbreak Your iPod Touch 3G, 4G Using Greenpois0n (Windows)

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G using Greenpois0n for Windows. Greenpois0n supports iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2.1 firmware. Use Limera1n if you want to jailbreak iOS 4.0, iOS 4.0.1, iOS 4.0.2.

Step One
Open your web browser of choice and navigate to http://www.greenpois0n.com. Click the Windows link at the bottom of the screen.

How to Jailbreak Your iPod Touch 3G, 4G Using Greenpois0n (Windows)

Step Two
When prompted save the download to your desktop

Step Three
Double click the downloaded gp_win_rc5_b2.zip file then drag the greenpois0n.exe file to the desktop. Double greenpois0n.exe from the desktop to launch the application

Step Four
Power off your iPod then click the large Prepare to Jailbreak (DFU) button

Step Five
You will now be instructed on how to place your iPod into DFU mode. You can get help with this here.

You will be asked to press and hold the sleep button for 2 seconds.

Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.

Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.

Step Six
Once your iPod is successfully in DFU mode you may click the Jailbreak button.

Step Seven
Greenpois0n will now jailbreak your device

Step Eight
Click the Quit button once the software application has completed.

You'll notice some verbose mode text scrolling on your device.

Step Nine
After the iPod restarts you'll notice a new Loader application on your Springboard. Press to launch it.

Step Ten
Press to select Cydia then press the large Install Cydia button that appears.

Step Eleven
Once Cydia has installed successfully you can remove Loader from your device. Press the Options button then press the Remove Loader.app button.

Step Twelve
Reboot your iPod then run Cydia. Let it do all the necessary updates.

doesn't work for iphone 3G. Read the readme, the lowest it goes for iphone is 3GS. Please revise intro of tutorial.

I jailbreaked my iPod 4g with iOS 4.2.1 got loader got Cydia but when I tried to open Cydia it starts to load but then it just crashes, them the apple/greenpois0n logo appears and my iPod gets locked as of I had pressed the lock button, any advise?

I jailbreak using greenpoisOn. Everythin went fine. I also got Loader app on springboard. But when i try to download cydia using loader, it says something like low memory and ask me to delete photos and videos. But actually my ipod is completely empty. I have not single app or song or photo on it. Anyone please give me solution.

dont know why nobody answers this, very good question, it is untethered. I googled this jailbreak before installing it, works great on my 4g Ipod Touch

I have a 3g 32Gig Ipod Touch with 4.2.1 installed. I used GreenPois1n and the installation instructions were very clear, easy, and Jailbreaked my device very easily and in about 2 minutes. Everything was fine until I went to use my ipod's bluetooth capabilities, there were none. The bluetooth MAC address was gone too. What can I do to change this or do I have to restore? If anyone knows or can help that would be fantastic.

ok i have i i pod 2g mc model and it jailbreaks but its stops in the prom monitor saying this Unable to find gbdevlist unable to find fs_mount unable to find fs_unmount unable to find fs_loadfile After this ends the ipod will reboot with no loader held please

Which is best jailbreak for ipod touch 2G MB model or non MC Model IOS 4.1, LimeRa1n or Greenpois0n or redsnow ? I tried Greenpoison but Cydia didnt install after jailbreaking process ..... Cydia folder remains white and doesnt open .... Wat shall i do now ?? Continue jailbreaking with redsnow on already jailbroken ipod touch OR do fresh firmware upgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 and jailbreak with rednsow .... if for ios 4.2, which jailbreak would be better for ipod touch 2G MB model ??

if you have windows and 4.1 then limera1n, if 4.2 and mac, then redsn0w 0.9.7b6. but if cydia doesnt work, re do the jailbreak process

Just an fyi for you all. This program is also good for jailbreaking Ipodtouch 2g with the mc model number on os 4.1

And as for the last 2 comments before this one. For the 4g ipod u want to use limera1n to jailbreak it. And if this doesnt work for the 2g mg model redsnow is working great.
