MuscleNerd has confirmed that RedSn0w 0.9.5 Beta can jailbreak the pre-release of iOS 4.0 GM on the iPhone 3G for those with legit activations.

Esto es solo para aquellos usuarios con un iPhone3G activado de forma legal (con su carrier original) y con la autorizacion que fue otorgada para los desarrolladores quienes poseen el permiso para activar la version 4.0GM seed, redsn0w la cual fue liberada hace 2 semanas atras y que podran realizar el respectivo JailBreak a sus dispositivos.
NOTA: Hay varias formas de obtener esta autorizacion para los usuarios regulares de iphone por lo que pueden consultar en sus buscadores como hacerlo.

RedSn0w 0.9.5 usa el mismo exploit del pwnage2 DFU-mode que a estado presente estos ultimos2.x dias. De lo cual, nada nuevo es relevante a Apple, y que esto no es aplicable al iPad. Por lo que Insistimos, que aquellos usuarios con yellowsn0w, ultrasn0w, o blacksn0w NO INTENTEN REALIZAR ESTO YA QUE PERDERAN SU LIBERACION de forma INDEFINIDA.

El equipo de iPhone Dev-Team tambien insiste que solo aquellos desarrolladores con autorizacion pueden realizar este paso de actualizar a la ver. iOS 4 por el momento.

I figured it out. You have to fool redsnow by pointing it to the ios 4.0b4 firmware, not the gold master.

They made a big mistake by releasing this ! Apple will close the hole (exploit) before June 21st !

It's only for the 3g and it's the same exploit that was in 3.1.2, in 3.1.3, in the beta releases and it seems Apple hasn't closed the hole in this version as well. It's nothing new really. It's the early unfinished pwnage tool that should have been held back.

Indeed it is possible with the 3gs, i've found a tutorial about going from 3.1.2 with redsnow and upgrade to iOs4, google will help you to find the package to add to pwnage...
