I got the iPhone 4S back in December with a new contract of 2 years with At&t. The iPhone 5 is going to be released soon, as you all know, and i'm wondering if i can have the opportunity to purchase it. Will At&t charge me extra? if so how much?
Thank you all!

This happens every time a new Apple product is released. The various carriers refuse to allow upgrades, then after everyone complains, they back down. How long it'll take, especially this time when they're nickle and dimeing everyone, is anyone's guess. The "official line" from both ATT and Verizon is that you'll have to buy an unlocked phone, then sign it up with them for another two years, which will cost you an extra $400, where the penalty for cancelling your contract and going with another carrier is only $200. (I'm waiting to see what they're response is as well!)

You might be able to qualify for early upgrade pricing which is starting at $399. On your current iPhone dial #NEW# (Thats *639#) and hit call.
It will tell you what pricing option you qualify for.
Do you have a family plan? If so, you could always use one of your other lines upgrade option. Or sell your current 4S unlocked on ebay for $400+ and use that money to buy the iPhone 5.
Good Luck:)

Don't know about ATT, but Verizon is maintaining their standard line that if you don't wait for the approved time you have to pay "Full Retail" ($999 for the 64gb vs $599). I suspect ATT will pull the same crap until people start complaining. Again, they do the same shit every year.
