Apple CEO Tim Cook teased an upcoming product launch on February 19 in a post on X today.
Cook shared the following message along with a short video of the Apple logo.
----- Get ready to meet the newest member of the family.
Wednesday, February 19. #AppleLaunch -----
The announcement is likely teasing the long-rumored iPhone SE 4. Codenamed V59, the device will be Apple's first update to its low-end smartphone since 2022, when 5G capability was introduced. The new model is expected to drop the Home button in favor of an edge-to-edge display, bringing its design in line with the rest of Apple's lineup. This change could help Apple regain budget-conscious customers, particularly in China, where it has lost market share to competitors like Huawei and Xiaomi.
The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to support Apple Intelligence and feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, complete with a notch at the top of the display. It may also use an OLED display panel, marking the end of LCD use in all iPhone models.
