Apple has released the first beta of macOS Sequoia 15.1 to developers for testing.
macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta is an early preview of an update to macOS Sequoia that will be available later this fall. This beta includes an initial set of the features powered by Apple Intelligence.
To try the Apple Intelligence beta, join the waitlist in Settings and you will be notified as soon as it is ready for your device. Both device language and Siri language must be set to US English, and device region must be set to United States.
Apple Intelligence is available on Macs with M1 and later. Apple Intelligence is not currently available in China.
Please back up your Mac before you install the beta.
For more information, please visit one of the following programs: • Apple Beta Software Program at beta.apple.com • Apple Developer Program at developer.apple.com
Developers with an Apple Silicon Mac can download the macOS 15.1 restore image from the link below. Or, for devices running macOS 13.4 Ventura or later, go to System Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the macOS Sequoia 15.1 Developer Beta to install this software.
Notably, this release appears to confirm recent reports that Apple would delay the launch of its artificial intelligence features, missing the initial release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. The delay will give the company more time to make improvements and fix bugs before the features arrive to consumers.
