iOS 17.2 to Bring Qi2 Charging Support to All iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 Models

Apple has revealed that iOS 17.2 will bring Qi2 charging support to all iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models.

The feature was announced in the changelog for iOS 17.2 RC 1, released to developers today. Qi v2.0 offers magnetic attachment (based on MagSafe), faster charging, higher efficiency, and greater convenience, unifying the industry under one global standard.

According to the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the first Qi2 wireless chargers will arrive in time for the holidays.


Belkin, Mophie, Anker and Aircharge have all pre-announced Qi2 products. Over 100 devices are currently in testing or in the certification testing queue.
