Apple's much anticipated mixed reality headset could feature 4K micro-OLED displays for each eye, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants.
In a tweet today, Young revealed that the headset would have 1.41-inch displays for each eye that offer an impressive 5000 nits of brightness.

Young also added that each display "Should be 4K per eye..."
Apple is widely expected to unveil the new headset, possibly called 'Reality Pro,' during its WWDC 2023 keynote on June 5th. The device can purportedly be used as both a method of consuming content and creating content with Apple working on new software that will include gaming, fitness, and collaboration tools, new versions of existing iPad features, and services for watching sports. The company hopes that eventually the platform could replace the iPhone.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that Luxshare-ICT will assemble the headset with key suppliers including Sony (micro OLED display), TSMC (dual processors), Everwin Precision (casing), Cowell (12 camera modules), and Goretek (external power supply).
It's unclear how much Apple will charge for the Reality Pro; however, some estimates put the cost at around $3000. This has led analysts to predict sales of less than 100,000 units in 2023 with total production of around 300,000 units.
