How to Remove eSIM From iPhone

You may need to erase your eSIM if you've transferred the eSIM's phone number to another iPhone or if you're going to sell, trade in, or give away your device.

We don't recommend you erase your eSIM as a troubleshooting step unless directed to by your carrier. If you erase your eSIM, you'll need to contact your carrier to get a new one.

HOW TO DELETE ESIM FROM IPHONE

Step One

Tap to launch the Settings app from your Home screen.

Step Two

Tap Cellular from the Settings menu.

Step Three

Select the Cellular account you'd like to remove from the list of SIMs.

Step Four

Tap Delete eSIM

Step Five

You will be warned that "This eSIM will be deleted from your iPhone. Your cellular plan will not be canceled. Contact your carrier to get a new eSIM or to cancel your plan"

Tap Delete eSIM once more to confirm.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

● After following these steps, you still need to contact your network provider to cancel your mobile data plan.
● If you erase all content and settings from your iPhone, you can choose to erase your eSIM as well or keep it.

WHAT IS AN ESIM

An eSIM is an industry-standard digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular plan from your carrier without having to use a physical SIM card. You can install eight or more eSIMs on an iPhone and use two phone numbers at the same time. eSIM can eliminate the need to purchase physical SIM cards for your new device; however, eSIM cards are not yet supported by all carriers and devices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SETUP AN ESIM

● An iPhone with eSIM capability: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later
● A wireless carrier or worldwide service provider that supports eSIM. Popular carriers that support eSIM cellular plans in the United States include T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T. eSIM on iPhone is not offered in China mainland. In Hong Kong and Macao, some iPhone models feature eSIM.
● Connection to a Wi-Fi network, unless you have an eSIM only iPhone 14 model
