iPhone 15 Pro Max to Feature New Camera Arrangement [Rumor]

Apple plans to introduce a new rear camera arrangement for the iPhone 15 Pro Max with periscope lens, according to a new report from leaker Unknownz21.

As corroborated by many other sources, the leaker expects Apple to introduce a periscope lens this year that will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The lens will likely feature optical zoom capabilities of 5-6X.

In a tweet last night, the leaker predicted that Apple will reposition the telephoto lens to sit between the flash and the LiDAR sensor.

On a related note - the camera arrangement has changed, compared to the 14 Pro / Pro Max.

The Ultra Wide and Telephoto cameras have swapped positions - so the camera between the flash and LiDAR sensor is the one with periscope lens on the 15 Pro Max (regular telephoto on 15 Pro)

While only the iPhone 15 Pro Max is likely to get a periscope lens this year, Apple is purportedly planning to bring the lens to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Both analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Unknownz21 have said that Apple will increase the display sizes for the iPhone 16 Pro models which will help accommodate the periscope lens on the smaller model.
