Apple is allegedly planning to release a gigantic 16-inch iPad Pro in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to a new report from The Information. That's the same size as its flagship 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The device would further blur the line between the iPad and MacBook, bringing the tablet’s screen size in line with that of Apple’s largest laptop, which also features a 16-inch display. Apple’s biggest iPad currently sports a 12.9-inch screen.
This isn't the first rumor we've heard of a larger iPad Pro. Earlier this year, display analyst Ross Young predicted a 14.1-inch iPad Pro without a mini-LED display or Promotion support for 2023. Rumors of the larger iPad were also corroborated by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman; however, this is the first we've heard of such a large display.
Currently, the new 12.9-inch M2 iPad Pro is the largest Apple tablet available and will likely be the flagship iPad for some time. It's available today, starting at $1099.
I wish that APPLE would add the super bright 1600nits display for a 10-11” iPad for outdoors and pilots. There is no room in cockpits for more. Besides the increased weight.
