The newly announced M1 Ultra Mac Studio beats out the 28-core Intel Mac Pro in an early Geekbench 5 benchmark result.
While Mac Studio doesn't arrive until March 18, a benchmark for the Mac 13,2 has surfaced in the Geekbench Results Browser.
According to the result, the M1 Ultra has a single-core score of 1793, slightly higher than the single-core score of 1747 for the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max and significantly higher than the 2019 Mac Pro at 1152. Currently, the top single-core processor is the Intel Core i9-12900K with a score of 1997.
Looking at multi-core performance, the M1 Ultra scored an impressive 24055. That's notably higher than the 28-core Mac Pro at 19951. It's even nearing the performance of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X, which tops the multi-core chart with a score of 25133.
While these numbers are based on a single result, it's clear the M1 Ultra will bring some impressive performance.
