Apple's new M1 iMac is over 50% faster than its predecessor, according to early benchmarks.
Three benchmarks for the new iMac 21,1 were added to the Geekbench Results browser today. Given the device identifier it's likely we're looking at the entry-level 7-core GPU model; however, it does have 16GB of RAM. Scores for the 8-core 3.2GHz desktop are as follows...
iMac21,1
● Single-Core Score: 1729, Multi-Core Score: 7459
● Single-Core Score: 1736, Multi-Core Score: 7429
● Single-Core Score: 1707, Multi-Core Score: 7471
This averages out to 1724 Single-Core and 7453 Multi-Core. Compare that to the Intel i7 21.5-inch iMac which scored 1109 and 6014 for an improvement of 55% and 24%, respectively.
Early reviews of the new iMac are expected to drop next week. In the meanwhile you can learn more about it here.
