Adobe has released Photoshop for iPad on the App Store.

The world’s best imaging and graphic design software is at the core of just about every creative project from photo editing and compositing to digital painting, animation, and graphic design. And now you can harness the power of Photoshop on your iPad to create anything you can imagine, wherever you’re inspired.

Adobe says this first version focuses on core compositing and retouching tools designed to work best on the iPad with Apple Pencil and touch. In future versions, the company plans to enhance tools used for brushes, masks, refining edges, and selecting smart subjects.

TOP FEATURES
● Create with full PSDs:
Create on your iPad with the Photoshop features you know and love, from retouching and compositing to spot healing and blend modes. Layers? They’re all here. Resolution? No difference. Your PSDs are exactly the same, whether you’re working on your desktop or a mountain top.

● Familiar tools, fingertip control:
Work with your Layer stack and Toolbar tools just like you do on your desktop. Swipe, pinch, tap, scribble, slide — you’ll feel closer to your work than ever before. And with the context-aware UI, only the core tools and panes are displayed, so you can focus on your canvas, not the clutter.

I agree with Nick, I think it’s sad that Adobe has the market cornered for creativity and design applications. Not only is that the case, they are extremely overpriced but it’s because you get off. This application, you definitely do not get your moneys worth adobe. This application should be separate of the monthly cost and should be a lot cheaper or it should come for free along with your monthly cost of your paid computer subscription of Adobe. This is another example of how companies are too greedy when it comes to software. To wrap up, makes offer affordable and less foggy if you really want to get customers to buy.

So far, the online reviews from actual purchasers are abysmal, and not just because of the lack of features, which are planned to be implemented over the next several years. The subscriptions fees are $120/year, the app is incredibly buggy, and the feature list is minimal. As much as I still rely on PS, this isn't a viable option. :( There are much better options available, at much lower fixed one-time prices.
