Apple may use a display that is capable of 120Hz refresh rates for the 2020 iPhone, according to a Samsung leaker Ice Universe.
Apple is considering a switchable 60Hz/120Hz refresh rate screen on the iPhone in 2020, and is discussing with Samsung and LG.
Already present on the iPad Pro, Apple's ProMotion display delivers refresh rates of up to 120 Hz for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. ProMotion also improves display quality and reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the display refresh rate to match the movement of the content.
Rumors suggest that Apple will abandon its 'tick, tock' cycle this year and produce another minor update to the iPhone X design. That would make the 2020 model the next major iPhone update. You can check out the alleged design of the 2019 iPhone here.
