Apple Registers Seven New MacBook Models With EEC

Posted June 13, 2019 at 11:11pm by iClarified
Apple has registered seven new MacBook models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), reports MacRumors. The devices are described as 'portable personal computers' and have the following model numbers: A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182, and A2251.

In the past, these legally required registrations have been spotted prior to the release of new Apple products. It's unclear if they point to a new notebook or just updates to existing models. Apple's 12-inch MacBook hasn't been updated since June of 2017 but the MacBook Air was refreshed last October and the MacBook Pro got a spec bump last month.

The most exciting possibility is that Apple could unveil its rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro. In February, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first predicted the release of a 16-inch to 16.5-inch MacBook Pro with an all-new design in 2019. However, a subsequent report indicated that the notebook had been pushed back to 2021. It's said that Apple is considering the use of a Samsung OLED display for the device.

If Apple were to unveil new MacBooks, it could do so at an event in October. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
