iOS 13 to Get Dark Mode, Revamped Health App, Sleep Mode, Much More [Report]

Apple is planning to unveil iOS 13 codenamed 'Yukon' at its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June, reports Bloomberg.

The refreshed operating system includes tweaks, new features, and updates to numerous applications, including some changes originally planned for last year. iOS 13 will also speed up devices and reduce bugs.

Here are some of the many features coming in iOS 13:
● New animation when launching multitasking and closing apps
● A cleaner look for widgets
● Dark Mode that can be enabled from Control Center
● A keyboard that lets you swipe from letter to letter, similar to SwiftKey (May remain internal)
● Revamped Health app with new home tab that better outlines your daily activity. New 'hearing health' section that track how loud you play music and how loud your environment is. Comprehensive menstrual cycle tracking.
● Ability to use iPad as a second screen for Mac with support for Apple Pencil, Mac notifications
● Updated Reminders app. Main screen has four default sections in a grid: tasks for today, all tasks, scheduled tasks, flagged tasks.
● New Screen Time feature lets parents limit who their kids can contact at certain times.
● Refreshed Apple Books app with updated progress tracker and new rewards system
● iMessage will let you set a profile picture and display name and choose who sees it. Dedicated menu in conversation view to send sticker versions of Animojis.
● Updated Maps app lets you easily set frequent locations and navigate to them. It's also possible to create groups of frequent places and add a photo to them.
● Find My Friends and Find My iPhone are being combined into a single app, internally dubbed 'GreenTorch' The app may work with a physical beacon to let you find lost items, rivaling Tile.
● Mail app will let you mute threads, block email from certain contacts, and gets simpler folder management.
● System-wide Sleep Mode which works with an upgraded Bedtime tab in the Clock app. The Bedtime tab could integrate with future sleep tracking devices like a new Apple Watch. Sleep Mode can be enabled in Control Center and turns on Do Not Disturb, darkens the Lock Screen, and mutes all notifications.
● Home app will be better integrated with security cameras and let you view past recordings.
● HomePod to support multi-user mode recognizing different users' voices.
● More organized 'share sheet' for sharing photos and web links with people suggests based on how frequently you share with them.
● Possible downloads manager for Safari.
● Updated Files app that works better with third party software
● iPad to get updated interface for multi-tasking, tweaks to the home screen, ability to cycle through different version of same app
● Better integration of hearing aid support


Bloomberg also notes that work has already begun on iOS 14, codenamed 'Azul' for 2020 that will support 5G and new AR functionality.
