Amazon Says Prime Video App for Apple TV is Still Set to Launch This Year

Amazon says its Prime Video app is still set to launch on the Apple TV this year, reports Tidbits.

At WWDC in June, Apple announced that a native Prime Video app would launch on the Apple TV by the end of the year. However, with no sign of the app into December, customers are understandably getting anxious about its arrival.

Despite the concerns, Amazon Public Relations claims the app is coming telling Tidbits, “Thanks for checking in. Yes, you can expect the launch this year.”

So there you have it — at least Amazon PR is on the record as promising the Amazon Prime Video app before 2018. Keep your eyes peeled for it becoming available any day now for your fourth-generation Apple TV or Apple TV 4K.

One possible launch date for the app would be December 8th to coincide with the premiere of the second season of The Grand Tour. Another option is that Amazon will delay it until the end of the year helping sales of the Fire TV.

While waiting, iOS users can download Amazon Prime Video from the App Store for free.
