Apple Removes App Store From iTunes

Apple has released iTunes 12.7 which adds support for iOS 11 but removes the App Store!

Changes in the new iTunes
The new iTunes focuses on music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and audiobooks. Apps for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch are now exclusively available in the new App Store for iOS. And the new App Store makes it easy to get, update, and redownload apps—all without a Mac or PC.

You'll find these changes in the new iTunes:
● Apps: Looking for your past iOS app downloads? Learn how to redownload apps on your iOS device.
● iTunes U: Collections of iTunes U content appear in the Podcasts section of iTunes.
● Internet Radio: Your Internet Radio stations appear in your music library's sidebar. Click Edit in the sidebar to show or hide Internet Radio.
● Ringtones: iOS 11 supports redownloading ringtones directly to your iOS device, without the need to use iTunes on your Mac or PC.
● Books on Windows: Books on iTunes for Windows are managed in iBooks for iOS. Learn how to redownload books on an iOS device.

You can get iTunes 12.7 from the Mac App Store. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for more Apple news, videos, and tutorials.

I found it out how to removed tones from iPhone.. Connect your iphone to iTunes 12.7, then go Summary/Options/ Manually manage music and videos check ✅ that, then go to Tones and delete what ringtones you want it!

Hello how now we can delete tones or disabled them from iTunes? I deleted them from where they are saved and deleted from my computer too, but they are still in the list of tones

I've got about 5 devices which I use, now its not easy for me to update one app five times on each device, really a bad move apple, for most people who use multiple apple devices

I feel that the one who makes these decisions does not really reflect. apple does not respect these customers sincerely

So, with iTunez 12.7 (sic) ios App Store on device offers no easy way to shop and purchase apps. Am I just to sit here and wait a week for new app to arrive - that will still give us no access via desktop? On top of this they do not even tell us the way to backup...How will new users fare with this type of inconsiderate actions....Sorry Apple, this makes no sense whatsoever - what were they thinking? I hope this is just a mistake that is righted soon???? -- Probably NOT!!

The only reason why I used iTunes was to keep older versions of apps as backups for the times when the developers either remove them from the store or screw them up completely (Strava anyone). Now iTunes is a complete waste of space. Thanks Apple, I'm going to enjoy the extra space after deleting the app.

Guys you can always keep what you got and the older iPhones and the iPhone 8. It will be a success you people just have tons of bad habits you can't get rid of. I don't see how all this would work but heck allot of buzz was around touch id but it's a success today. Time to try something different god damit.

You can still add files to programs like VLC using iTunes. It's all under the "file sharing" section. Have a look around before making assumptions.

First of all touch ID is not as secure as face ID watch the keynote it’s proven second the feature to download all of your devices is still available

What a stupid-ass idea stripping the App Store from iTunes!! What the hell was Apple thinking when they decided to make this dumb move? Taking to their support communities, they must get rekt for this -_-

i think they're trying to get rid off the lightning port as well with this move since they believe that wireless is the future.

What a completely short sighted, user unfriendly, backward step. Now to update 6 devices I have to download the updates 6 times. Sorry but the iPhone, / iPad is a smart device not just a media player. I'm off to investigate Android

100% agreed with this. totally a stupid move by apple. im so pissed with them for taking this decision. so if i want to install one app to 5 of my idevices i have to download them 5 times? do they aware that the appstore on mac device is one of the thing i like about organizing my apps(around 3000 apps and games and still counting) and makes them different and special comparing to android? also i always buy iphone since the original until iphone 7 plus and never missed every single of them. but this year, the iphone x is totally losing my interest here. i might still buying it because android is never an option even i own one(as a secondary phone), but if you really watching the keynote then you'll realise they put everything in a rush for this iphone x. something just not get right starting with faceid(really slow imo and not as reliable/simple as touch id). they can't come up with something fresh and innovate idea to replace the home button than just swipe up? why not use the hard press on the lowest bottom screen area to close the app (also will activate the haptic engine to give the feedback feel). just my thought though, not trying to be a smart ass here, apple did a great job but i just feels like they trying hard to be innovate but all they forget the root of apple by steve is to make everything just work and simple. ps. all the leaks games? hahaha we know you did it intentionally. this year is probably the worst game you play.

Aggreed, Apple still thinks everybody all over the world have unlimited, super fast internet connections. As an alternative you can use Apple configurator to update multiple iOS devices.

Thanks Samim, I didn't know about Apple Configurator - I'll give it a try.
