Another report, this one from TechCrunch, predicts that Apple's new OLED iPhone will ship later than its updated LCD models. The site says 'trusted sources' have confirmed separate releases.
Apple is preparing to announce a new series of iPhone at an event next week. Two models are on tap and TechCrunch has learned from trusted sources the more expensive, fancier version will ship at a later time. It’s unclear how long will separate the availability of the two different versions. Several reports have surfaced over the last few weeks pointing to supply issues and production glitches that could be the reason for the delay.
Earlier today, Macotakara purported that the iPhone 8 Edition would ship in October, later than the September 22nd date the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will reportedly ship. The WSJ says production glitches delayed the iPhone 8 Edition model by a month.
Apple is set to unveil its new devices on September 12th at the Steve Jobs Theater. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
