Pegatron is reportedly ready for a trial production run of a new Microsoft Surface Phone, reports the Commercial Times via DigiTimes.
Taiwan-based ODM Pegatron, which has been working with Microsoft to produce Surface devices, is ready to begin trial production of Surface Phone, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
According to the report, Microsoft is expected unveil a Surface Phone in 2017. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently hinted at the device saying that the company is working on "the ultimate mobile device."
It will be interesting to see if Microsoft is able to capture the imagination of customers as it did with the recently unveiled Surface Studio desktop.
Whatever hi-end hardware specs it has it all end up in what kind of OS and wide-base of apps it offer. Blackberry has a solid hardware spec and beat the iPhone but in the end the company died and was revived by adopting Android. Because Blackberry has not much developers making apps for their OS. If Windows didn't learn in their previous mistake of making the flop Windows OS, this one will surely fail. More gimmicks that is what ordinary consumers are looking for.
I would buy it, since I'm unhappy apple loyal customer with battery issue and apple refuse to fix it and blaming to other third party app developers. I have apple phone since beginning of 2007. I wish some other executive take over the apple. Same old boring design, product, and software. Currently Apple customer service got lowest satisfaction rate and I notice when I went for Genius Bar appointment. I'm sure everyone agreed now days it to a very difficult to take Genius Bar appointment! You have to go store and make appointment and wait more than hour then you get your turn without solving the issue.
Then again, what's so best about the interface of a phone that is trying to drag its dying platform along with 90s style that looks like it was done in 5 minutes?
