Apple to Introduce 10.5-inch iPad Next Year?

Apple is planning to introduce a 10.5-inch iPad in 2017, according to a new report from DigiTimes. Production of the device is expected to start in December.
Apple is launching the 10.5-inch iPad mainly because 10-inch and larger tablets have been popular among enterprises and the education sector in the US, the sources said. Its existing 9.7-inch iPad may be too small and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro too expensive for such procurement, the sources indicated.
The 10.5-inch iPad is said to feature the same Apple A10X chip used in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Shipments are expected to reach 2 million units in the first quarter of 2017 and 5-6 million for the year. Apple is also predicted to launch a lower price version of the 9.7-inch iPad to better compete with Android tablets.
We've heard conflicting rumors on what the screen size of the new iPad will be. Barclays predicted that Apple will release three iPad Pro models in March including a 10.9-inch bezel-free model. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes it will be 10.5-inches and Macotakara reports that it is 10.1-inches.
