Samsung is planning to launch a new glossy black version of the Galaxy S7 smartphone following the discontinuation of the Note 7, reports The Korea Herald.
According to industry sources on Nov. 21, the Korean tech giant plans to launch a new glossy black version of the flagship smartphone early next month. Together with the Onyx Black with a matte finish, the company aims to take on the hot-selling variants of Apple’s iPhone 7 -- the shiny Jet Black and the Matte Black.
The site claims that new colors and generous cash benefits are boosting the demand for the Galaxy S7 over the iPhone 7. The Coral Blue version of the Galaxy S7 is selling almost 15,000 units a day since launching on November 11th and allegedly sales of the iPhone 7 have dropped to 10,000 units per day in recent weeks.
Samsung has never been shy about copying Apple. Do you think a glossy black version will help boost holiday sales?
Apple's phones have various colours on machined aluminium. Samsung's inferior ones are on plastic. That's why people liked Apple's trendsetting designs better. Cos anyone can make coloured plastic.
