Someone Drilled a Headphone Jack Into Their iPhone 7 [Video]

Posted September 26, 2016 at 2:04pm by iClarified
With Apple's controversial decision to remove the headphone jack in the iPhone 7, it was just a matter of time until someone took a drill to the device.

TechRax posted a video of the 'hack' to YouTube:

This video is for those who don't want to get $159 wireless airpods or have to insert your headphones into an adapter every time you listen to music.

Did the iPhone 7 survive? Take a look below...

i DO CARE ABOUT THIS.... HEADPHONES 6s----bass sound pretty good what im used to a bass filled but not too bad earbud doesnt make ears hurt on highs ear drum not clicking HEADPHONES 7--- bass is there but not as pronounced idk why but immediatly noticed this and wa slike hey whaaaa?? the mids and overall fidelity sounds better i admit but with it is added tinnyness and idk why the redux in bass deepness it seems but they sound like they got more hi fi and less dynamic range thru mids and lows -- idk its loud without crackling my ear drum also but it buggs me that i nearly have lost all my punchyness background to my bass now id rather take back the old headphones kinda in a way and use those on the adapter but really.. shit i think i liked the tones of the 6s headjack but yes yes yes i know fidelity isnt there as much on 6s -- and i do think the ldac and sony x33 speaker sounds better on the 7 then on bt over the 6s but idk for sure im starting to get angry at Dac's in general now damn YOU dac's

The point is the jack most likely could have remained in the same spot. They wanted to the sell the adapter , and potentially increase the water Retention . Water damage is still not covered under the warranty I believe, so the removal of the jack was pointless it appears. What good is a water ip7 or what ever it is then . Many cars do not have Bluetooth, and many have a headphone jack they plug there devices into. Was to sell the adapter, wireless headphones would have worked regardless.

The jack removal was necessary after all. The jack is 100+ years old and many ports on computers have been dropped one after another. The headphone jack removal gets iPhome 1 meter water pressure because with the jack, water gets in the phone that way, sound through that is analog compared to lightning with digital sound, plus some say wires are becoming obselete and the headphone jack will be the next decade.

I honestly don't get the point. Why damage a perfectly working phone,? give it away if you can't do something better with it. BTW, iClarified, stop posting news like this, its irrelevant and we don't learn nothing from it.

I totally agree with you , i always follow iClarified for new news , but posting videos that have no meaning or intellectual benefits, it will damage your reputation.

Whoever said this person is wasting his money are stupid. He makes way more money with the views. Haven't you heard? Post a video breaking something expensive and make 5 times that money through YouTube ads.

Video shows phone jack not removed because of space but because of selling too much adapter and their wireless expensive pods, they will not put any audio adapter to next gen iPhones

No. It's obvious we can hear the music from the speakers and see the WUX port not go all the way in, but the easiest way he could have proven this to work is turning up the volume and it would've said 'headphones'

Well if 20 year old vloggers live in LA and can afford it with only 200,000 subs on their channel I think people like this can rebuy their iPhone.
